Inspiration for song choice

When choosing a song I wanted to pick a mainly rock song however with elements of psychedelia and progressive music. I wanted to do a song in a slimier style to that of Jethro Tull.
However I move away from the band directly as it would be very complex to re-create visually and that we should use a song no longer than 4 minuets.

On the other hand heavier bands such as Nirvana were suggested as they would be more interesting and allow us to experiment with ideas more effectively.

Despite this we agreed it would be harder to pull of effectively so we moved towards an acoustic rock style that would be easy yet interesting such as Tom Petty.

This song has a very effective verse and chorus different using a small amount of instruments and a simple drum beat. This would make it very easy to film and look accurate. However the song is not very lyrically interesting to create a video from therefore we moved to a new idea.
This song gave us the benefits of the Tom Petty track but with the interesting elements of the Nirvana song.
